Review of progress in Artificial General Intelligence and Human Brain inspired Cognitive Architecture

General Intelligence has been the broader and realistic goal of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The progress in general AI has been unimpressive in comparison with the Narrow AI systems. This paper aims to review a Human Brain inspired Cognitive Architecture and present the aspects of the architecture. The critical aspects of the architecture such as Storage, Processing, Sensory have been discussed in the paper and it would boost the understanding of our Human brain and how Cognition takes place. Cognitive abilities are an important part of the architecture, hereby we will discuss and compare the five basic human sensory organs with available digital sensors or devices resembling our five basic senses. There have been many hurdles in the pathway of general AI, we will analyse the challenges faced by the researchers in developing General Intelligent models. As we know the invention of General AI will be most promising event in the history thus we will explore the opportunities in General AI systems. This study shall provide guiding path towards General Intelligence and shall enlighten the path towards human brain inspired Cognitive architecture.
