Multiband Trapezium-shaped Slot antenna for W-LAN and Wi-Max Applications

In this research paper, a multiband trapezium-shaped slot antenna for W-LAN and Wi-Max applications is proposed. The antenna consists of a bent-rectangular strip embedded in the trapezium-shaped slot to attain the operating multiband characteristics. Additionally, two arc-shaped slots of equal radius along the end points of the trapezium-shaped ground slot to enhance middle band operation. The proposed antenna is designed and simulated to prove its validity. The antenna structure is simulated using CST Studio Suite (2020). The dimensions of the proposed antenna are $75\times 75\times 1.6\ \text{mm}^{3}$ and is designed on a FR-4 substrate (relative permittivity $\hbox{`}\mathcal{E}_{r}\hbox{'}=4.3$). The antenna provides triple band properties with return loss $(\mathrm{S}11 < - 10\ \text{dB})$. For W-LAN application, the fractional bandwidths of 15.8% is centered at 2.4 GHz and 16.9% is centered at 5.2 GHz respectively. Additionally, a fractional bandwidth of 10% is accomplished at 3.5 GHz for Wi-Max application. Other existing literatures are compared with the novel structure of the proposed antenna. Moreover, proposed antenna is outperformed than existing literature.
