Privacy and Security Matters Related To Use Of Mobile Devices and Social Media

Mobile device usage and social media have become an integral part of our lives in this day and age. The sharing of images, videos, news, music, doing business, purchasing online, working online, and sharing of sensitive information such as bank account details and social security numbers is now done online. The emergence of different domains for working in cyberspace has not only made life more convenient and efficient but has led to increased exposure to security threats. With the increased usage of mobile devices and social media, there has been an increased vulnerability for theft and all sorts of cybercrimes one may fall victim to. This research study looks at the behavior of 25 student mobile device users on their security consciousness and preferences to protect their data.
