A Prototype Model for Virtual Traffic Light Maintenance using AIS

In the era of computational intelligence, Artificial Immune System (AIS), inherent of the biological immune system holds the major potential to solve multiple problems by its various models and techniques. It no longer stands behind to step into the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)'s world. Virtual Traffic Lights (VTLs) which come under the umbrella of Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) is the self-organized systems to implement traffic functioning at a junction. After a stable cluster formation and ongoing operation of VTL, if a vehicle arrives at the intersection, it has to decide whether to be a part of the same cluster and follow the current functions or to form another cluster with other arriving vehicles. In this paper, we aim to incorporate AIS metaphors to detect and control this anomalous clustering condition of the VTL traffic management systems.
