A flat panel display device fabricated by using carbon nanotubes cathode

A diode structure display device was fabricated by using carbon nanotubes cathode, which was deposited by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition. The display area is 40 mm /spl times/ 40 mm. Microstructure of the cathode was tested by SEM and Raman spectroscopy. The turn-on field of electron emission from the cathode is lower than 1 v//spl mu/m. The current density of the electron emission is 5.1 mA/cm/sup 2/ at electric field of 4.4 v//spl mu/m. The maximum of fluorescent intensity from green phosphor coated on ITO anode is higher than 1 /spl times/ 10/sup 3/ cd/m/sup 2/.
