Quality Analysis of Farm Seeds and Variation of various Parameters using Infrared Imaging

Availability of very high-quality seeds is very important for the production of seedlings along with agriculture and horticulture. The quality of the seeds is related to resistance to biological, abiotic stresses, the rate of seedling, and performance of the plant. Temperature sensing IR cameras have historically been used for military applications. However, decreasing prices, increasing image quality, and the smaller size of the camera during the past years have opened the door to a variety of utility. Agriculture is a particularly important area of research. The use of the Thermal camera is being extended as much as possible to measure the temperature difference. They can have many advantages compared to image camera, that work in the visual spectrum, such as - the ability to see in the darkness, work robustly in a variety of lights, and less intrusions on privacy, etc. One of the main challenges is to track Short-Term Single-Object (STSO) in the temperature image. The proposed work describes how to identify the quality of seeds. Additionally, the results of the evaluation through simulation for STSO have been presented. In the proposed work, a variety of edge detection techniques are described, and necessary background is provided to understand the principles of edge detection. The literature survey has been done keeping in mind the methods based on Kernel. Finally, Sobel edge detection is introduced, which is usually used to identify destination objects.
