GIS for Assessment and Modeling Air Pollution by Industrial Facilities

The work is focused on the creation of a GIS-based system for assessing and modeling atmospheric air pollution by industrial facilities to ensure environmental safety and prevent possible emergencies. The analysis of regulatory documented methods for calculating pollutants emissions dispersion in the air is presented. A point source pollutant concentration field computing algorithm with subsequent visualization is developed. Based on the developed algorithm, the total field pollutants concentration from multiple sources calculating approach is built. ArcGIS for Desktop is used for simulation results visualization. The software implementation of the developed algorithm is made using Python.
