Continuous-Time Low-Pass Sigma-Delta ADC for Ambient Light Sensor Applications

This article presents a continuous-time lowpass sigma-delta analog to digital converter (ADC) for ambient light sensor applications with a chain of integrators and with weighted capacitive feedforward summation (CICFF) topology which is a desirable design for implementation in low consumption. The summation of feedforward signals is implemented by weighted capacitors with neural network (NN) to avoid try and error of switching for CT lowpass ΣΔ modulator, without the necessity of any additional active components which can be used Fresnel design for wide front of view angle ambient light sensor.
