Improved Energy Efficient Routing Protocol in Wireless Sensor Network

Sensor nodes in wireless sensor networks(WSNs) are responsible for the communication of data. It is very significant to use the sensor nodes in an effective way in order to make it energy efficient. A number of approaches have been designed to make the WSN more effective in terms of saving the energy. Although, the techniques have effective results but there are some limitations that are needed to be considered for a better model. Thus, this paper demonstrates a novel method in which the sensor nodes are uniformly distributed in clusters and the cluster head are selected on the basis of residual energy, distance between the nodes in the remaining nodes. Further, to save the energy in the WSN, coordinated node is incorporated in every cluster to eliminate the chain based system for communication. The model is then simulated in the MATLAB environment to validate the performance of the model. The results of the model are compared with the existing work in terms of dead nodes, alive nodes and energy consumption.
