Integrated Waveform Design For 64QAM-LFM Radar Communication

This paper designed an integrated waveform of high order radar communication combining 64QAM signal and LFM pulse. LFM signal is used as the carrier of 64QAM signal to realize high rate communication without affecting the basic functions of radar. The performance analysis and computer simulation of the new integrated waveform of 64QAM-LFM show that, in terms of communication performance, the waveform has the same bit error rate (BER) characteristics as the 64QAM signal, has higher frequency band utilization rate than the integrated signal of BPSK-LFM, MSK-LFM and other low-order modulation, and has lower complexity than the OFDM-LFM signal and other high-efficiency integrated signals. In terms of radar performance, this waveform has higher range and speed resolution than LFM signal, because its radar fuzzy function is close to the pushpin type, but their detection probabilities of low-speed targets are the same.
