Overview of drum boiler separation devices

One of the main elements of drum boilers, ensuring reliable and efficient operation, is the separation device. In drum boilers, there is an acute problem of selection and arrangement of separation devices that affect the production of high-quality steam. The drums of power boilers operate under high pressure; therefore, safety is the main requirement for its operation. The article presents a comparative analysis of various types of separation devices with a description of their advantages and disadvantages, as well as an assessment of the hydrodynamic characteristics by the example of the TP-87 boiler using mathematical modeling programs.
