Power transformer relay protection with its condition monitoring function

The paper considers the prospects of using synchronized phasor measurements (SPM) to implement the functions of a power transformer relay protection and control in microprocessor devices. Examples of using SPM technology to realize additional features for determining MIC mode and a short circuit in the transformer are given. The protection algorithm of the power transformer based on SPM is proposed, a description of its operation is presented. Features of SPM application for transformer condition monitoring are indicated. A list of the main controlled power transformer parameters is proposed. The block diagram of the transformer protection and condition monitoring system is presented, a description of the devices used in the diagram is given. Advantages of a transformer protection and condition monitoring integrated system based on SPM are presented.
