A Wideband Out-of-Phase Power Divider Based on Odd-Mode Spoof Surface Plasmon Polaritons

Power divider is of great importance in the modern microwave and communication system. With the good performance of spoof surface plasmons polariton (SPP) in the lower microwave band, mimicking the SPP at the optical band, it's a wise choice to put it into the design and fabrication of the power dividers. Therefore, by etching the corrugated double symmetrical gratings and two single separated gratings with periodic rectangular grooves using spoof surface plasmons polariton, a wideband out-of-phase power divider is presented with equal power division. Furthermore, a transition is employed to excite the odd-mode SSPP waves, which means wider operating band, tighter field confinement and 180^o phase difference between the output ports. The simulated results prove the good performance of the proposed power divider, which has great potential applications in the integrated plasmonic devices.
