A Microstrip Yagi Antenna Array Generating Plane Spiral Orbital Angular Momentum Wave

Plane spiral orbital angular momentum (PSOAM) wave propagates along the transverse direction, which can solve the beam hollow area and phase singularity existed in orbital angular momentum (OAM) wave. In this paper, a microstrip Yagi circular array antenna generating plane spiral orbital angular momentum wave is designed and simulated. Compared with the existing PSOAM antenna, the proposed PSOAM antenna has a plane structure, which is easy to integrated on a communication device. At the same time, the proposed antenna works around 3.7GHz, which has application prospects in future 5G communications. The simulation results show that the antenna successfully generates l=3 vortex beam and omnidirectional side-fire pattern.
