Grey Relational Analysis of Regional Logistics Concentration and Regional Economic Development in the Pearl River Delta

The regional logistics industry is of great significance to promote the development of industrial structure. This paper measures the regional agglomeration, enterprise agglomeration and regional agglomeration structure of the logistics industry in the Pearl River Delta from 2013 to 2019, and uses the gray correlation model to analyze the relationship between transportation, storage and postal industry, wholesale and retail industry and economic development. The study found that the logistics industry in the Pearl River Delta at this stage has not formed a reasonable agglomeration structure, whether it is transportation, storage and postal industry, or wholesale and retail. The agglomeration and structure of the transportation, storage, and postal industries in the Pearl River Delta are better than those of wholesale and retail, but the agglomeration of wholesale and retail has a greater impact on economic development. Full attention should be paid to the promotion of regional economic development by the agglomeration of the logistics industry, the positive externalities of the agglomeration of the logistics industry should be brought into play, the supply-side reform of the logistics industry should be actively promoted, and differentiated guidance strategies should be adopted for the transportation, warehousing and postal industries, and wholesale and retail industries.
