Application of Quad-Ridge Horn Antenna in Near Field Measurement System

We presented a quad-ridge horn antenna (QRHA) used as a probe in near-field measurement system application. The antenna was designed with proper shape and size, and has a smaller phase difference distribution over a wide frequency range, so it can obtain good radiation pattern performance. The antenna was dual polarized and matched over more than a 6:1 impedance bandwidth. The design process of simulation model and prototype was given in this paper. The experimental results have shown that measured were in good agreement with simulated. Finally, the antenna was used as the probe of the near field measurement system and verified by testing the linearly polarized antenna.
