An Optically Controlled Active Frequency Selection Surface for Absorption Adjustment Function

An optically controlled active frequency selection surface (OCAFSS) loaded with photo-resistors (PRs) is designed to realize the function of an adjustable absorption rate in this paper. The structure is a miniaturized metamaterial absorber (MMA),use PRs instead of lumped resistors. The variation of LED light intensity is used as the control parameter for the changes of the resistance value of PRs. The intensity of the light is adjusted by the voltage at both ends of the LED.Simulation and experimental results show that, under high-light state or dark state, FSS has an absorbing wave near 0.8GHz, and in the low-light state, FSS has an absorbing wave near 1.6GHz.The feasibility of PRs loading on OCAFSS is proved.
