A stretchable wideband photo-thermoelectric wrap scanner sheet for wearable and noninvasive liquid quality monitoring

Recent rapid progress of stretchable electronics has been having a significant impact on even sensing and imaging techniques such as wearable and stress-free healthcare monitoring. In this work, our previous stretchable terahertz (THz) detector by integrating a carbon nanotube (CNT) film photo-detection channel and a thin polyurethane substrate has been successfully developed to highly-sensitive stretchable wideband photo-thermoelectric wrap scanner sheet with the fine series configuration of PN junctions. Moreover, the present device-design approach enables us to realize wearable and noninvasive liquid quality monitoring by clearly sensing intensity changes of the blackbody radiation via liquid solvents while target solutes are flowing.
