Novel Flux-Weakening Control on Maximum Torque Control Frame for IPMSM Position Sensorless Control

This paper proposes a novel flux-weakening control method for Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (IPMSMs). The main idea to realize the proposed flux- weakening control method is to estimate the maximum torque control frame (MTCF) robustly to magnetic saturation by using an extended flux (EF) model. Firstly, a modified reduced order observer is designed to estimate the EF. Then, based on the MTCF, IPMSMs can be regarded as Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (SPMSMs), which is possible to realize simple flux-weakening control. Next, a phase-locked loop (PLL) is introduced to estimate the rotor position and velocity. Finally, some simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
