A shared knockout ATM switch for reduction of hardware under variable hot-spot traffic

We propose a shared knockout ATM switch under non-uniform traffic with variable hot-spot ports in order to handle flexibly when the number and port of the hot-spot change. In the proposed model systems share a batcher network in order to decrease the total number of switch elements. Moreover, the proposed model has a function that the maximum cell transmission number called a speedup factor L/sub 2/ is set to be larger than the lower limit of the number of arrival cells L/sub 1/, i.e, L/sub 1/
