The MATLAB/SIMULINK Implementation of a Single Zone Temperature Control Strategies

Two control approaches are implemented in this article. In the first approach, a conventional proportional-integral-derivative controller is designed and implemented for performance comparison. In the second approach, a Fuzzy Logic controller is designed and implemented. Both controllers are implemented in MATLAB R2019b. The aim will be to select the most appropriate controller capable of being applied to control the temperature of a variable air volume of a single zone area, which is one of the most common devices in a large number of HVAC control system applications.
