FUZZY LOGIC based Improvement of UPFC Performance in Power System

Power generation and power distribution has to face and monitor many issues such as deterioration of power quality, total harmonic distortion (THD), stability, transient time and many more. For many such problems there is one solution i.e FACTS devices and to increase or enhance its performance it can be utilized along with Artificial Intelligence Techniques. UPFC which is one of the FACT device is been used in this paper, and to take its performance to the extreme limit combination of FUZZY logic controller and UPFC is used, which will drastically gives the difference in previous work and this work, as a result THD value reduces and power system stabilizes. Here basically we proposed Machine Learning Technique which is FUZZY logic and shunt filter with transformer that will work as a controller for controlling power transient conditions and FACT device which is UPFC.
