Comparison of Transmission Control Protocol Variants for Two Way Transfer and Propagation Model with WiMAX Network Bandwidth Asymmetry

The Full Duplex Data Transfer, Propagation Model and other working parameters influence the performance of World Wide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) with various Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) Variants with bandwidth asymmetry. This paper illustrates the comparison of performances for different TCP variants in WiMAX network assuming bandwidth asymmetry condition. Comparison is done for propagation model and data transfer in full duplex mode for varying number of wireless stations. The performance is calculated using Throughput, Goodput and number of Packets Dropped. This study suggests that TCP Linux performs better when the number of uploading wireless nodes are more having lower DL:UL ratio as well as when number of downloading wireless nodes are more having higher DL: UL ratio. TCP New Reno performs better in case of Two Ray Ground propagation model with higher DL:UL.
