Atmospheric Phase Screen Compensation of GB-SAR in Deep Dagushan Open-Pit Mine

In this letter, time-series atmospheric stratification is experimentally found to occur during periods of sunrise and sunset in the deep Dagushan open-pit mine of Anshan, China, which causes time-series changes in the atmospheric phase screen (APS) in ground-based synthetic aperture radar (GB-SAR) slope monitoring data, which lacks strict statistical law. For this reason, an APS compensation method based on high coherence points (HCPs) and the random forest (RF) algorithm is proposed. First, the spatiotemporal features of the meteorological data and APS at the Dagushan open-pit mine in Anshan, China, are analyzed. Second, based on the atmospheric delay theory and atmospheric spatial stratification assumption, the functional expression of this type of APS is derived, and an RF model (RFM) is established based on HCPs to compensate for this type of APS. Finally, the superiority of the method is demonstrated by comparison with the compensation results of the existing methods, and the two monitored slope anomalous regions show its practicality.
