Studying the SVC Control Strategy of the Ali Interconnection Project

The Ali Interconnection project will connect the isolated Ali grid and the main Tibet grid, and the transmission distance will be more than 1,000 kilometers. The system structure and the power support of the grid along the interconnection channel both are very weak, then the reactive power control and voltage control of which are very difficult, too. In order to improve the voltage control level of the Ali Interconnection project, some SVC reactive compensation devices are configured at both ends of the channel. Based on the data of Ali grid and Tibet main grid, the control strategies of these SVC devices are studied by digital-analog hybrid simulation. According to the simulation results, the suitable control parameters and strategies are given, which provides powerful technical support for the projects such as interconnection of weak grids or the new energy consumption.
