Continuous Commutation Failure Suppression for Multi-Infeed UHVDC System Using Grid-Side Energy Storage

In recent years, the grid-side electrochemical energy storage technology has developed rapidly in the grid, and is expected to become an effective control means to improve the stability of AC-DC hybrid system. In this paper, aiming at the continuous commutation failure in the transient process of multi-infeed UHVDC system, the mechanism of active power output of storage energy on the continuous commutation failure at the receiving end of AC/DC hybrid power network is studied. On this basis, the control strategy of storage power output is proposed. The influence of energy storage installation location on the suppression of continuous commutation failure in multi-infeed UHVDC system is further analyzed. Taking Henan multi-infeed UHVDC system as an example, the simulation results verify that the proposed active power control strategy of energy storage power station can achieve a good suppression effect of continuous commutation failure.
