The Simulation of Characteristics of Acoustic Signal Propagated Through Different Layers of Water-Blocking Tape in High Voltage Cable

High voltage cables are of great importance to ensure urban power transmission. Therefore, this paper focuses on a tough defect, ablation in water-blocking tape of HV cable, and conducts researches on the acoustic characteristics of this kind of defect. The numerical model and finite element model were established to obtain the attenuation and propagation characteristics of the acoustic signal getting through different layers of water-blocking tape.
