Simulation Study on the Power Transmission Stability of HVDC-connected Offshore Wind Farms

With the wide application of the renewable eneragy, more attention has been paid to the abundant offshore wind energy resources. Experience in the field has shown that oscillation may occur between offshore wind farms and HVDC systems due to the internal interaction between the offshore converter and the wind farms. Therefore, it is necessary to find out the factors that may cause the oscillation between the wind farms and the offshore HVDC system, and find out the corresponding measures to eliminate these oscillations so as to improve the reliability of the system operation. Through PSCAD modeling and simulation practice, this paper points out the factors that cause the oscillations and make corresponding improvements to make the system run in a stable state.
