Edge-Cloud Collaboration Architecture of Virtual Power Plant for Large-scale EV Integration

Today, the energy structure is accelerating to adjust, so that countries all over the world are committed to the efficient development of renewable energy. However, renewable energy will pose a serious challenge to the power grid's acceptance and peak regulation. In this case, virtual power plant is a practical and effective technical means with great potential and optimistic prospect. The main task of virtual power plant is to deal with massive distributed resources. In order to improve efficiency and ensure the safe and stable operation of power system, it is necessary to rationally allocate distributed resources within the virtual power plant, so as to give play to the value of resources and reduce the waste of resources. These are the technical difficulties faced by the internal scheduling of virtual power plants.This article has carried on the studies of edge-cloud collaboration system. Starting from the structure and function of the virtual power plant, it analyzes the scheduling and control of the virtual power plant's internal distributed power generation resources, and integrates edge computing and cloud computing. A system integrating edge-cloud collaboration and VPP is proposed. The edge layer makes real-time processing computing, controlling the charging and discharging management and the safe operation of EV. The cloud layer disperses key non-real-time information to each cloud server, reduces data transmission distance and data errors during transmission, and improves data access speed. Based on the above background, this paper studies the architecture of the new generation virtual power plant.
