Analysis on Market Potential of Generation-side Contract Electricity Transfer Transaction

At present, most provinces in China only carry out medium and long term power transactions, so that power generation enterprises lack effective avenues to avoid risks. Moreover, because of the objective factor of low forecasting precision of renewable energy generation, the participation of renewable energy enterprises in power market is limited. In recent years, with the increase of installed proportion of renewable energy in our power system, the task of renewable energy consumption has become more arduous. In order to promote the development of renewable energy and meanwhile help power generation enterprises avoid risks, many provinces have started to carry out generation-side contract electricity transfer transactions based on the principle of clean substitution. However, due to the lack of experience of market participants, the market potential of generation-side contract electricity transfer transaction still needs to be further explored. This paper separately analyzes the initiative of generationside market participants joining in the contract electricity transfer transactions under four factors of network congestion, system peak-load regulation, risk aversion and the pursuit of self-interest maximization. Then on the basis of model optimization and calculation example analysis, the effectiveness of generation-side contract electricity transfer transaction is verified in promoting the consumption of renewable energy and enhancing the activity of power generation enterprises participating in market.
