3D Lidar Technology for Coils Recognition in Auto Crane

Recently Auto Crane research and use 3D lidar technology for recognition the Coil parameters in cold rolling plant. Using 2D lidar and servo system, this paper introduces one 3D lidar system to synchronize the high resolution servo encoder data with point cloud data of 2D lidar, which improve the point cloud data validation. According the steel coil module, this paper introduces one de-order cylinder identification method, and gives the core C++ code. The self-developed 3D lidar device and the coil-cylinder module have been implemented in several projects in cold rolling plant.
