Performance analysis of Cerebellum Controller for Nonlinear Systems

This paper presents an intelligent controller by mimicking Cerebellum part of mammalian brain to improve the performance of nonlinear systems. The nonlinearities present in a system will deteriorate during various operating conditions. A suitable controller required to incorporate into system to diminish nonlinearities. Cerebellum is a part of brain can be mimicked as a controller to solve nonlinearities. The Cerebellar system is associated with different parts namely Mossy fiber, Granule cell, Climbing fiber and Purkinje cell. Individual part functionality can represent mathematically to form as controller. The proposed controller is developed for Rotary inverted pendulum system and for speed control of Induction motor drive to reduce nonlinearities present in system and to achieve high performance. Various tests are performed on these systems using proposed controller to show robustness and sensitiveness. The results obtained with proposed Cerebellum controller is validated by comparing with existing controllers to hold effectiveness.
