Feasibility Study for Energy Storage Device on PV-Plant with Low Capacity Utilization

In this paper, a microgrid system with a low capacity utilization factor has considered for the feasibility study by utilizing an energy storage device. The existing system has extensively studied by taking one-year data during the period 2019-2020 in terms of PV plant average energy output, capacity utilization factor, total energy output, energy loss due to distribution failure. Accordingly, a new term called distribution failure factor has introduced which plays a vital role in PV plant design. As a result, an appropriate battery storage device has selected based on maximum battery capacity and maximum power. Finally, the proposed system has found economically feasible with the existing system with the help of MATLAB simulation results.
