Research on Multi-platform Time Difference Location Technology

Passive positioning technology, as one of the core technologies in electronic reconnaissance and electronic countermeasures, plays an important role in modern high-tech wars. This technology evaluates the target's potential threat by estimating the position and movement of the target's radiation source in order to carry out subsequent accurate strikes. Passive positioning systems have a wide range of applications in anti-missile systems, airborne and missile-borne air-to-ground attacks, and motion estimation of stealth targets. In military fields such as electronic reconnaissance, the target radiation source and the receiving base station are in a non-cooperative state, so it is difficult to achieve synchronization in time, and the positioning method based on arrival cannot achieve the target positioning in this case. By measuring the time difference between an unknown target signal and different receiving base stations, non-cooperative targets can be accurately located. This method is an effective method, which estimates the target position by solving the system of equations related to the target position parameters. The time difference-based positioning system only needs time synchronization between the receiving base stations and has high positioning accuracy. This method is widely used in military fields such as electronic countermeasures. Based on the basic principles of time difference positioning, this paper compares and analyzes several time difference positioning algorithms, and at the same time performs error analysis on time difference positioning. It provides a certain reference for the engineering practice application of time difference positioning method.
