Current stress optimization of dual active bridge converter based on dual phase shift control

Aiming at the shortcoming that the current stress is large in the double active bridge(DAB) isolated DC/DC converter which uses single phase-shift(SPS) control, the paper adopts double phase-shift(DPS) control. It divides the converter working modes into internal and external working modes. Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions are used to calculate the optimal phase shift angle when the current stress is the smallest, and the mathematical model between the optimal current stress and the phase shift angle is established, which the phase shift angle satisfies the soft switching condition of the power switch in the full power operation range. Above scheme is compared with the traditional SPS control, EPS control, and DPS control, and a control strategy for optimizing current stress in the full power operation range is proposed. At the same time, in order to enhance the dynamic performance of the DAB isolated DC/DC converter, a power compensation scheme to optimize the dynamic response of the converter is proposed in the paper. And the dynamic response of the converter is optimized under the premise of the optimal current stress. Finally, the correctness and superiority are verified through experiments.
