Performance Analysis of SRM Based on Asymmetrical Bridge Converter For Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle

Electric Vehicles (EV) is now assumed to be one of the green transport modes. Generally speaking, EV will further usually create a low-carbon market over the forecast period. Switched Reluctance (SR) motors possess new perspectives throughout this field, as they have no permanent magnets; just high-silicon steel as well as copper windings have been mandated. SR motors have been driven by asymmetric bridge converters with a significant number of switches, leading to higher power loss and negative torque current. Even when SR motors have several advantages, the acoustic noise affected by radial vibrations and torque ripples it seems to be additional drawbacks that need to be compensated. This paper proposes to achieve this six-phase multilevel converter. This article demonstrates the designed to operate theories and models of a six-phase multilevel converter for a 12/8 SRM drive. In the designed motor drive, the banks of battery have been used to connect the power source of the generator directly to maintain multilevel voltage as well as to operate the generator. The capacitor would be used to boost the DC-link voltage for battery-driving functions. The proposed topology reduces the torque ripple and ensures a smooth response of the speed. The circuit is simulated and analyzed using the software MATLAB.
