Advance Approach to Prevent the Effect of Mutual Coupling & Series Capacitor for Series Compensated Parallel Transmission Lines

Novel algorithm is projected for LG fault on series compensated parallel transmission line. The realtime digital simulator (RTDS) test is being used to validate the performance of the proposed algorithm suggested. The test are carried out at three different location i.e., for 360km, 80km and 400kmfrom end M excluding the impact of parameters like mutual coupling, metal oxide varistor (MOV) and Air gap. These parameters are taken variable in proposed algorithm. The results are discussed at three cases. The accuracy of impedance measurement of distance relay is improved by changing the setting of relay to 80-90%.
