Adaptive Performance-Guaranteed Speed Control of BLDCM for Heat Pump System

The heat pump air conditioner has high efficiency and energy-saving effect and the Brushless Direct Current Motor (BLDCM) is increasingly being used in the heat pump since it has many advantages. However, uncertainties such as unknown parameters and disturbances may cause unsatisfactory performance, and transient performance is not paid enough attention. Therefore, an adaptive performance-guaranteed speed controller is proposed for BLDCM suffering from uncertain parameters in this paper. Firstly, a constrained state-space model of BLDCM is transformed into an equivalent unconstrained one to reach guaranteed performance. Subsequently, uncertainties are tackled by using the neural network (NN) scheme. In this way, the speed of BLDCM is guaranteed to evolve in the preset upper and lower bounds. Furthermore, all signals within the closed-loop system are proved to be bounded via Lyapunov synthesis. Finally, the feasibility of the theoretical results is demonstrated via extensive simulation studies in Matlab/Simulink.
