Simulation of electric field distribution in cable joint with different structural parameter and installation parameter

The joint of 10kV cable is a kind of cable accessory that needs to be installed outdoors. It is an important research direction to analyze the influence of different structural parameters and installation parameters on the electric field distribution in the cable joint. In this manuscript, the finite element method is used to simulate the electric field distribution of a two-dimensional axisymmetric cable joint model under the condition of power frequency. By changing the distance between the stress cone and the high-voltage shield, the influence of this structure parameter on the distribution of the electric field of the joint is analyzed. The influence of installation parameters on the electric field distribution of the cable is analyzed by changing the lap length of the semi-conductive layer. The results show that the distance between the stress cone root and the high-voltage shield should be between 74-84mm, and the lap length of the semi-conductive layer outside the cable and the stress cone should be between 29-32mm.
