An Analysis on GNSS Parameters over Bangladesh Intended for Developing a SBAS

With a view to having an accurate navigation system, the necessity of developing an augmentation system is indispensable. Due to this reason, most of the countries have built their own augmentation system. Bangladesh, being a developing country can also aim for separate augmentation system. Several satellite constellations are being used for navigation purpose but for an augmentation system the best one or combination should be selected by investigating some of the important relevant parameters. The performance of GNSS parameters also vary from places to places due to the availability of satellites and delay in signal propagation. In this paper, a comparison has been carried out among standalone GPS, Galileo and a combined GPS-Galileo system over a particular period of time, surveying at four different locations in Bangladesh to detect the best possible system as well as differentiate among the locations based on the parameters. The result is acquired by observing some key parameters along with ionospheric delay for the signal bands which indicates the combination of GPS-Galileo system can be a pertinent solution than the other analyzed individual systems. The study also indicates that Chattogram and Dhaka are superior locations since both show better performance than the rest of the places.
