Comparative Simulation of Mobile Underwater Acoustic Communication Network Based on OPNET

Underwater acoustic communication network is the main solution for underwater wireless information applications. In order to explore the performance of underwater acoustic communication network in marine environment, this paper establishes a marine environment mobile network with 8 mobile wireless nodes in OPNET simulation platform, and carries out simulations. Furthermore, the performances of mobile network in marine environment and laboratory environment were simulated and compared. The simulation results showed that ocean current, wind speed, salinity and other factors can affect the performance of underwater acoustic communication network in marine environment. As a result, the performances of underwater acoustic communication network in marine environment are worse than that in laboratory environment in terms of time delay, throughput and receiving speed.
