BAT-COOP: Cooperative Diversity in FANETs using BAT Algorithm with two relay mechanism

Biological inspired algorithms are now applicable to provide the problem solutions in various research areas. Flying Ad hoc Network (FANET) is a complex nature ad hoc network which deals in high speed mobility of nodes and regular network partitioning. In contrast to the traditional schemes, designing of protocol for FANETs is complex. A vision of biological principles permits to establish network and transfer information. This article is inspired from social behavior of bats and thus Bat Algorithm (BAT) is investigated for routing. In our proposed work, we are presenting a routing protocol namely BAT-COOP (Bat algorithm using cooperation technique) for FANETs. This comprises of two stages i.e. BAT and cooperation. Simulation results show that BATCOOP minimizes the end to end delay and transmission loss which extend the network stability period.
