Exploring XML Index Structures and Evaluating C-Tree Index-based Algorithm

There have been many XML specific indexing techniques available, but a comprehensive list of comparisons of the existing techniques has not been performed yet. The two Key factors based on indexing techniques used in XML are query optimization and processing the query. This article presents the use of C-TREE for indexing XML documents for faster query processing which also decreases the performance time in query optimization. The C-tree indices is compared with Node Index and Path Index approaches and the results are displayed.
