Miniaturized Angular Frequency Selective Surface in Satellite Communication

Compact size angular frequency selective surface and the simulation analysis by improvised the dimensions of the unit cell of FSS is presented in this research work. The frequency selective surface has become a prerequisite for many applications such as satellite communication, Radar, Microwave, aircraft, and wireless communication. The proposed FSS unit cell design is a square patch type with 45-degree inclination and frequency of 4GHz to 11GHz. The intended FSS unit cell design consists of FR4 Epoxy substrate with dielectric constant 4.1666, at 7.2GHz. The proposed design is simulated and verified using ANSYS group HFSS 2018.2 software. The proposed model attains a minimum return loss of -29 dB with a bandwidth efficiency of 90% which is much better than conventional designs.
