Effects of Symmetrical Voltage Sags on Two Induction Motors System Coupled with An Elastic Web

This paper analyzes the symmetrical voltage sags consequences on a two induction motors system, coupled with an elastic web whose mechanical tension is adjustable and fed by a common DC link. The transferred material is characterized by its elastic properties and geometry. We will evaluate the behaviour of the system in the presence of voltage sags, in order to design a control law of the mechanical tension, based on PI controller, and to evaluate the efficiency of this control scheme by simulation. The systems considered in this study are those that can withstand a decrease in speed but for which synchronism is particularly important. We will model the components of the drive system, which allows emulating a continuous production system (winding ...), by functional blocks and state-space representations. The results will be validated by simulation using Power System Blockset of Matlab/Simulink© environment.
