A Novel Design of a Fully Seamless e-Payment Experience

A novel design of a fully seamless and cashless payment gateway is outlined with the challenges that arise from establishing a seamless payment experience within the existing monetary and e-system in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The proposed design integrates various existing technologies such as RFID, cloud computing, in-memory data structures, and more; to build a user experience that is seamless and requires no physical interaction to complete the payment. The gateway also uses two-factor authentication seamlessly, to verify the buyer's identity. After discussion of the principles followed for the design, the underlying hardware and software architecture, and means of integrating internal and external systems; a list of challenges and lessons learned will be discussed.
