An Advanced Universal Electronic Load Controller For SEIG Feeding Three Phase Non-Linear/Unbalanced Loads In Wind Energy Systems

The objective of this study is to provide a throughout analysis of an induction generator in isolated operation using a universal electronic load controller to ensure optimal operation. This UELC consists of a transistor (MOSFET) controlled dump load system; in which the firing angle regulates the amount of power to be fed into the dump load. A dynamic model of the SEIG/UELC supplying nonlinear and unbalanced load is developed for observing the behavior of the system under transient conditions. The system configuration is developed in the Matlab® Simulink environment to discover the multiple UELC functions. The simulated results show that the voltage produced remains sinusoidal and constant under nonlinear/unbalanced load. The proposed UELC regulates supply active power, compensates reactive power, mitigates current harmonics, acts as a load balancer, and load controller.
