Designing On-Street Smart Parking Recommendations

The increasing number of four-wheeled vehicle users in urban areas is not balanced with the parking area provided in the city, especially in a crowded downtown area (usually shopping centers, offices, etc.). Lack of availability of parking area and information status in each area can make the driver pass through an area many times just to find free parking slot. In this paper we will discuss the design of on-street Smart Parking by using mobile senisng and Internet of Things(IoT), so that it can deliver information that should be known by the driver such as the amount of free parking space in each area and recommended parking area that can be addressed by considering the distance and time from the parking area to the real place to go(destination). This information is shown online and in real time to the driver.
