Information Technology Support for Portfolio Optimization

The paper describes an application of information technology to support decision-making for portfolio optimal investment. The decision making task is formalized as a portfolio optimization problem solved in Excel environment, which provides a practical tool for implementation in decision-making. The portfolio optimization applies maximization of Net Present Value (NPV) because the riskless return is close to zero. The obtained information technology solution is numerically tested with mutual funds, traded on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange in 2019.
