Channel Modeling for Forest Backhaul Networks using Millimeter Wave in 5G Communications

Tremendous increase of use of smart phones have risen mobile data volume to many folds resulting in spectrum hungry issue in addition to the need of coverage and huge capacity bandwidth in cellular networks. Hence millimeter wave communication would reduce this hunger despite of its drawbacks in both access network and backhaul network. Foliage loss, atmosphere and distance affects the mmWave communication immensely. In this paper a solution to this issue is presented by the statistical channel modeling of a forest backhaul networks. It describes the Angle of Arrival (AoAs), Angle of Departure (AoD), power delay profiles and scatter plots for co-polarized and cross-polarized antennas at 60 GHz and 73 GHz.
